ZambiaA vast and glorious wilderness

Zambia’s amazing richness and diversity of wild places provides unique opportunities for any safari wish list. It is best known for its spectacular views of Victoria Falls in the south, at the 4-nations crossroads with wildlife giants Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. The jewel in Zambia’s crown is the web of rich wildlife areas, thanks to its lush, tropical climate and evergreen river valleys that crisscross the undulating plains of this largely undeveloped country.

An African country blessed with abundant water, including the magnificent Victoria Falls and multiple smaller waterfalls.

“We were watching our Africa movies with our grandsons over the holiday and it brought back such great memories.  It was truly the trip of a lifetime.”

See it your way

Your safari through Zambia will be fully tailored to make every moment memorable. Each day brings new adventures, and you can choose the pace that suits you. Whether you want things spiced up with adrenalin-pumping off-road exploration or some quiet time to reflect with wildlife photography or painting, you’ll revel in the spellbinding game drives that we all love.

Family run camps

The South Luangwa valley is home to many small family-owned safari camps offering a very personal embrace into this underappreciated country. Here you are guaranteed to be welcomed with open arms and treated like long-lost family. Judith’s own extended family have lived in and run one such camp, Kaingo Camp, for many decades.

Climate

The weather pays a pivotal role in deciding when to visit Zambia, as the seasonal tropical rains render many roads impassable. As a result many camps close during the rainy season between December and April, although there are still plenty of opportunities for the adventurous traveller over this time.

North Luangwa National Park

The Luangwa valley, formed by the Western arm of the Great Rift Valley, hosts the remote North Luangwa National Park, which is one of the most wild and unspoilt wilderness experiences. With no permanent lodges and only walking safaris permitted, it’s a remarkable way to witness the natural splendour of the wildlife.
